The Arab Reading Challenge was launched by the Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, to encourage reading among students in the Arab world through more than a million students commitment to participate by reading fifty million books each academic year.

Arab Reading Challenge aims to develop a love of reading in children and the younger generation of the Arab world, and to instill a habit ingrained in their lives to promote curiosity and a passion for knowledge. The reading leads to the development of students' skills in analytical criticism and expression of thinking, and to promote tolerance and open-mindedness and cultural values by introducing them the ideas of writers, thinkers and philosophers.
